My attempt here is to convey confrontation; between what reveals to people and what wants to reveal at the subconscious level. By suppressing too many thoughts and not expressing emotions, you slowly builds up different personalities/voices within, and eventually, even if you want to hide them, they get revealed unnoticeably through the eyes and words.
