Bringing a part of the history of her chosen hometown Berlin to the New World, Clarke-Davis engages in an act of personal investigation and critical exploration of public politics. Within the confined space of the gallery, Clarke-Davis will involve the public in a participatory act of building a “Wall of Freedumb”.
" Come One, Come All, Come Build a WALL."
The Wall as a symbol has obvious universal meaning and historical, as well as contemporary significance.
Reflecting on the ultimate cliched symbol of her chosen hometown, Berlin, Clarke-Davis will engage in an act of warped personal nostalgia and playful public politics.
Within the safe and confined space of the gallery, the artist will involve the public in a participatory act of building a "Wall of Freedumb."
But that will not be all...
Evoking the spirit of DADA.
The Public will be Lulled and Entertained,
Pacified and Challenged.
There will be Singing and Celebration,
Campaigning and Cruelty.
Sensation and Security.
All in the name of US.
All in the name of Happening Homogeneity.
All in the Fantastic Hope of creating a Freedumbland.
