Matriart  magazine was published quarterly and offered important opportunities for critical discourse and exchange. Magazines are particularly well suited for extensive dissemination and Matriart was subscribed to by most leading universities and art schools. It was distributed across Canada and the U.S. 1990 - 1998.

Matriart covered a decade of ground breaking contemporary women’s art.

A GREAT RESOURCE FOR STUDENTS & EDUCATORS!

Who Counts and Who's Counting?  WARC published "Who Counts and Who's Counting?" in Matriart Magazine, Vol 5:1, 1994, The Status of Canadian Women in the Arts. THis landmark survey presented a statistical comparison of gender representation at the National Gallery of Canada for the years 1970 and 1993.

WARC will premiere a WARC produced documentary examining the results of our 2004 survey of gender representation at the National Gallery of Canada for our 25th anniversary (2009).
